Formatting the SD Card

SD card performance normally degrades over time, and your SD card may eventually fail to write images fast enough to keep up with a Quantix flight.

It is suggested to reformat the SD card after two to three flights or 1500 acres. This will minimize potential data loss from disk fragmentation.

It is also recommend to use the same model SD card that was provided with your system.

To format your SD Card.

  1. Insert the card into your computer.
  2. Open a file explorer window.

  3. Right-click on the SD card in the file browser and select "Format" to open the Format SD Card display.

  4. On the Format SD Card display, select the following options.
    1. File System: "exFAT"
    2. Format Options: Un-check "Quick Format"

  5. Push Start.
  6. Acknowledge the pop up warning telling you that the SD card contents will be deleted.

Formatting your SD card may take a long time (1-2 hours), depending upon how much data is on the card. Do not shut down your computer while the disc is reformatting or you will have to redo it.
